fix: set-game-view-size no longer reports success under the Device Simulator, and --reset removes the size entry it leaves behind - #3412
Before: with the Device Simulator showing, --width 1280 --height 720 returned Success: true and "changed from 2360x1640 to 2360x1640" while Unity only logged an error. The uloop size entry stayed in Unity's user-wide GameViewSizes.asset (every project, across Editor restarts) with no way to remove it, and reading the size with no Play Mode view open opened a Game View.
After:
A change or reset under the Device Simulator (or another non-Game View Play Mode view) returns Success: false (exit code 1), changes nothing, and tells the agent to run uloop game-view-mode --to GameView or --device <name>.
Responses now include View (GameView / Simulator / None / Other) and SelectedSize (the selected dropdown entry, so setting the size already rendered still shows that the uloop entry got selected). A successful change carries a Warning that the entry persists and how to remove it.
uloop set-game-view-size --reset removes the uloop entries from every platform group, saves the list, and re-selects the previous selection (remembered within the Editor session, current platform group only). A selection the user made in the meantime is kept; an unknown or deleted previous selection falls back to the first entry and the message says so.
Reading without arguments no longer opens a Game View when none is open (View: None, 0x0).
Changes
The tool's logic moved into an internal use case behind a port, mirroring game-view-mode, so every view kind and reset branch is covered by EditMode tests with a fake port (21 tests).
A new internal API bridge reads and edits the Game View size list directly through the existing friend-assembly grant (no reflection). Removal matches the exact base text uloop with a fixed resolution, so user entries such as uloop-phone are left alone, and the selection is re-selected by name because removal shifts indices.
The skill, Documentation~/tools.md / tools_ja.md, and the embedded tool catalog (new Reset property) document where the entry is stored and how --reset works; shared release input stamps are refreshed for the catalog change.
Switched to the Device Simulator, --width 1920 --height 1080: Success: false, exit code 1, View: Simulator, size unchanged (2048x1536); no new "does not support custom resolution" error in the Console. --reset there: Success: false.
Back to Game View, --reset: Success: true, Removed: 2 (Standalone and iOS groups), SelectedSize: "16:9 Aspect" restored, size back to 676x380; GameViewSizes.asset has 0 uloop entries afterwards.
Second --reset: Removed: 0, "No 'uloop' size entry was found".
Under the Device Simulator, PlayModeWindow.SetCustomRenderingResolution only
logs an error, yet the tool reported Success: true with an unchanged size.
The tool also leaves a "uloop" entry in the user-wide GameViewSizes.asset
with no way to remove it, and a plain read opened a Game View when no Play
Mode view existed.
- Move the decision logic into an internal use case behind a port so every
view kind and reset branch is covered by EditMode tests with a fake.
- Reject a change or reset unless a Game View (or no view) is showing, and
report View, SelectedSize, and a Warning that the entry persists.
- Add --reset: remove the owned entries from every platform group, then
re-select the selection remembered in SessionState (or keep the user's
own selection by name, since removal shifts indices).
- Add GameViewSizeListBridge to reach the internal size list types through
the friend-assembly grant without reflection.
Agents had no way to learn that the size change leaves a "uloop" entry in
the user-wide GameViewSizes.asset, or that the size does not apply under the
Device Simulator. The skill now documents View, SelectedSize, Removed, and
Warning, the --reset contract (selection restored only for the current
platform group and Editor session), and the Simulator refusal.
The embedded tool catalog gains the Reset property, so the shared release
input stamps are refreshed alongside it.
The set-game-view-size tool now supports resetting its custom size entries and restoring a previous selection. It reports view-aware results, rejects unsupported operations, and documents persistence and reset behavior. Tests cover request validation, view states, size application, and reset outcomes.

Summary
Request and response contract Packages/src/Editor/FirstPartyTools/SetGameViewSize/SetGameViewSizeSchema.cs, SetGameViewSizeResponse.cs, ISetGameViewSizePort.cs, cli/common/tools/default-tools.json, cli/*/shared-inputs-stamp.json
The request adds Reset. The response adds view, selected-size, removed-entry, and warning fields. The CLI tool schema describes reset and its incompatibility with width or height.
The editor port implements view, resolution, size-list, and remembered-selection operations. The bridge reads and selects entries and removes matching custom fixed-resolution entries across distinct platform groups.
View-aware reads and size application Packages/src/Editor/FirstPartyTools/SetGameViewSize/SetGameViewSizeUseCase.cs, SetGameViewSizeTool.cs, Assets/Tests/Editor/SetGameViewSizeUseCaseTests.cs, AssemblyInfo.cs
The use case validates requests and handles reads and size application by view type. The tool constructs the editor port. Tests cover validation, read, and apply behavior.
Reset removes owned entries and restores a remembered selection or selects a fallback. Tests cover reset outcomes. The skill files and tool documentation describe reset, persistence, and view-specific behavior.
Out-of-range sizes can be silently clamped, although it is unclear whether this is a new regression. No other merge-blocking risk is established.

Explanation
[#3410] The PR addresses both coding requirements. For Device Simulator and other non-Game View modes, the use case returns failure without changing the size and directs the user to game-view-mode --to GameView or a device. The response includes View and SelectedSize. Successful changes report that the custom uloop entry persists and identify --reset as the cleanup action. The bridge removes exact fixed-resolution uloop entries across platform groups and leaves names such as uloop-phone unchanged. The use-case tests cover these branches and the reported test suite passed. The documentation also describes the user-wide persistence and reset behavior.

Explanation
The changed code, tests, documentation, catalog schema, and refreshed input stamps support [#3410]. The use case, port, Editor bridge, response fields, reset schema, and tests implement or verify the requested behavior. The no-view read behavior prevents an unnecessary Game View side effect from the same command. The skill and tool documentation explain the new behavior. No unrelated change is demonstrated. The excluded .meta file does not affect the assessed requirements.

PlayModeWindow.SetCustomRenderingResolution reuses the first entry whose
display text starts with "uloop", so a user entry such as "uloop-phone" was
overwritten, then kept by --reset (which matches the base text exactly), and
a second change remembered it in place of the real previous selection.
- Apply the size through the bridge with the same steps as Unity's
SetCustomResolution, but find the entry with the exact-match rule.
- Extract that rule into IsOwnedSize, shared by apply and removal, and pin
it with tests, since it is the only guard before entries are deleted from
the user-wide size list.
- Add a use case test with a "uloop-phone" entry and note in the skill that
such entries are never touched.

Reject dimensions that Unity will silently clamp.
If a caller requests 1x1, GameViewSize stores 10x10. Unity 2022.3 clamps fixed-resolution dimensions to 10–99,999, but the use case accepts any positive dimensions and returns Success: true without checking the requested size. Validate Unity's supported range before changing the list, and cover both limits in the use-case tests. (github.com)
